Jube Rims Finally Painted

The rank amateur strikes again, but I'm happy with the results.

I put three coats on everything. My neighbor came over so I left a little too long between 2nd and 3rd coats but it seems to not matter. The sun was shining on one just before the last coat so it was probably too warm. I shaded it for the actual spraying with a big beach umbrella. :)

The best part is that the Ford Grey Valspar I had mixed up for me, was the perfect color. One of you mentioned brown in it and before stirring it actually looks like brown paint. this paint is so sticky it must really cling well to surfaces.

The rims are custom-widened 13's.

Cheers,
Terry

Thanks much Colin,

I still can't believe I managed to get 3 coats on without seriously screwing up -- cause it's only the second time I've spray painted with a gun. It looks like it's got real depth and is nice and shiny. They are dry to the touch now and I've moved the 4 pieces inside for the night.

What do you think of those wheel weight holes? Are they recognizable as accepting any known weights?

Cheers,
Terry

Hi David,

Good to know and remember!
One of the many things I don't know about auto painting!

I just used the reducer that I had previously bought from the people who sold me the Valspar but had never used . . . because when I asked them if it would work with this polyurethane enamel, they said it was compatible.

Looking at the can now . . .
It is Nason 441-66 (Dupont)
Just says "Standard Reducer".

Thanks for your attention to detail.
