Air Filter Mounting

My 43 2N came without a air filter so have been running a couple layers of window screening on choke horn to keep the large stuff out.
3 weeks ago I finally installed a filter and haven't even started her since. Yesterday while doing something else I realized the throttle doesn't move through it's ranges because the filter is touching throttle rod as well as choke rod. Filter is also not centered in hood dimpled area, it's about 1" forward of it. It is also only about 1/8" from hood.

My question is was there a adaptor that relocated the filter backwards and out a small amount?
There are no exploded views in my FO-4 showing the mounting.

All I had while putting filter on are the square holes in battery platform (for carriage bolts?).

On my 9N the choke rod had to be bent slightly to clear the air filter mounting the choke rod on mine runs through the air filter bracket.
Sometime I have to rotate the knob on the choke to pull it out.
The throttle linkage runs across the top of the air filter bracket where it bolts to the battery housing.

Mine just mount to the side of the battery tray as you said.
No adapters, just the stand-offs or metal legs on the housing.
My throttle and choke rods are run as Bart said, but I must
have gotten lucky as none of mine had to be bent and do not rub.
Are the metal legs bent maybe? Air cleaner shoved in at the top
or closer to the battery because of being shifted sideways?

Hey Royse,
Filter about 2" from battery (I 'just' looked after reading your post).
I did find the issue with binding linkages. It looks like a PO stood on the choke rod putting a downward bend in it and is now interfearing with throttle movement.
It's amazing what you can see when you use a light ~laughing~.
Since choke knob stands out from dash about 3/4" and is at a upward angle I should have plenty of room to reconture that rod to clear throttle linkage and make knob sit more square to dash.
I'm conserned with internal engine damages from who knows how long running w/o filter. Just have to cross that bridge when I get to it.
Again, Thank You,
Norm

All fixed. Had to reconture choke rod just a little.
Even managed to grain 4 horses while was doing it :)
Now to get trail camera set up Woo Hoo
