I purchased and rebuilt a zenith 13876 carburetor with a kit from Yesterdays Tractor. I installed it and the tractor ran fine. Then I noticed a gas leaking from the intake at about one drop/ minute. I guess the float needs adjustment, but I misplaced the instructions that came with the kit. I e-mailed Yesterdays Tractor requesting a new copy but have heard nothing yet. Any suggestions???

Dripping when its running or not running?
Its a good idea to always turn the fuel off when not running.

It is possible that the float is maladjusted, I don't have the
spec for that carb.
It is also possible that the seat for the needle valve does not
have the seal under it or that the seat has come loose.
Make sure the seal is there and that it is tight.
If it has a viton (rubber) tipped needle, make sure it is seated
well in the seat. It should close tight enough to hold air if you
try to blow through the inlet lightly with your mouth.

The 13876 Zenith, is a good carb, BUT....a pain in the rear-end to set the Float and needle seat!!!!!! I usually do not take in those carbs, but have done a few. In fact I do have one that I have kept....just because it was given to me!! :lol:
I can walk you though checking those areas, over the phone.!!!

Thanks;
I tore it all down again and set the needle valve snug before turning it back one and half turns. Runs fine and no leaks so far.
