Has anyone had to replace a rear axle shaft on a Jubilee? I wondering how big of a job it is and what the procedure is.

Hit john smith's site on the maint / repairs section.. then lookup rear axle seals.

look that over.. basically same deal you will be doing.. but going in with new axles. should work out the same as a late 8n
john smiths site.

It is a pretty straight forward project, I"ve done them for more than 50 years, best to have a manual, also Soundguy has good advice. We also have some NEW axles left from jobs that customers decided they didn"t need, very good price, check riverdalefarmshop.com, any questions, you can call 920 295 3278, Dale and Doug.

Thanks for the reply's. I did look at Smith's website before posting the original post. Last fall I did replace the wheel hub with an oversized one to hopelfully compensate for the wear on the axel and hub. It worked find through the winter but now I am seeing some looseness. I have two service manuals for this tractor and none of them tells how to replace an axel shaft only the seal. Is as simple that the shaft slides out once I have the axel seal removed?
