Need some governor help please?

I received the small bushing with a slot that goes in the back of the governor to drive the proofmeter cable. Does it just slide into the hole in the back or do I need to remove the governor/disassemble to install this?

It presses into a counterbore on the end of the governor main shaft. You'll have to disassemble it to press it in there.

Unless I have missed sum'n I see no reason it can not be tapped home.... I have to wonder why you would even have to ask the question... It should be obvious if the end of the gov shaft is hollow...

Old eyes don't see as well. Also, I haven't peeked inside either.
