Axle bolster

I am starting to get parts and pieces together and refurbished to put together an early 42 N. (still can't find good engine) The only good axle bolster I have has a simple angle brace to hold the radiator. No provision for bolting the dog legs to it. Also, the axle king pin on that bolster is held in by a cap bolt and does not have the bolt hole that secures the king pin with the flange in front. What was this bolster used on? How were the dog legs bolted to the bolster? Where can I find the straight kin pin without the flange? I can fabricate a brace to hold the dog legs.

Richard, I am facing the same dilemma that you are. I am trying to refurbish a 1942 2n that is on steel wheels and cannot find a 9N or 2N motor. The doglegs I got with the tractor do not have bolt holes at the bottom but appear to have brackets on the inside that attach to the radiator shell. I also have a bolster from a 43 2N that has the brackets with the hole for the doglegs that have the bolt hole at the bottom.I would guess that with a later bolster and radiator you could make the later doglegs work.
By now you are probably as confused as I am.
