Wiring new 1941 9N 6v Ammeter

Got a new ammeter for "41 9N, 6v. Read somewhere that I need to cut the wire that went through the "ring" on the back of the original and attach to the two terminals. But mine (Sparex, from Carpenter) has three terminals. The two larger terminals toward bottom are stamped +L and +B. The top center terminal has a plastic cap on it, has a square shaft with hole in it, and "set" screw. Can"t find instructions anywhere. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Loads & Battery

Since the 9N is positive ground, would B still go to battery or would I reverse B and L? Could the third terminal be a ground?

thanks

ince they failed to mark terminals pos or neg, I say hook in up one way and if it reads backwards, the swap all from one terminal to the other.

My 'guess' is that if a replacement/generic meter, they counted on neg ground, therefore, you will need loads on B and battery on L.
