Expensive attachment, comes with tractor

I was checking my local CL and found this listing really close to home. I don't really need another tractor, but I have been window shopping them online for a while. I guess I got the bug. :? Right now I've got a late 8N that runs pretty good. I use it to mow and prepare a garden spot. I'm not terribly interested in a 9N, if it was another side mount 8N I would probably have already called and made the guy an offer. I'm mostly interested in the rake. Youtubed some rake videos and it looks like something I could put to work. What do you guys think about the rake as a useful tool and this one in particular? I have a box that doesn't get used. I can't ever get it to do anything other than ride over the top of the ground. It needs some welding repair, and I'm thinking of adding some weight to it when I get that done.

I thought the 9N didn't have running boards, could they have been
added or could this be something else or some kind of a mutt?

Tractor doesn't look too bad, $800 or so in implements.

Adjust the length of your top link to get the box blade to dig.
If you're pulling it forward, shorten the top link slightly.
Going backwards lengthen it.
If your cutting edge is worn, it won't help much going forward though.
Do you have the teeth in it to help loosen soil? They help.

The rake works Ok for some things, the box blade for leveling.
I flip my rake around coiled to the rear, then tilt it to the side
and used it to rake rocks out of the yard back into the drive.
It doesn't tear up the grass as bad pulling it backwards.

They can be added Zach, as they are on this tractor.
Pretty easily too, my 9N and 2N both have them.

I have a blade, box blade and a rock rake.
All have there use, I used the rock rake the other
day to rake up some heavy grass and weeds off a
neighbors trailer lot, worked ok.

I would say the rake is too small, you need at least
6 ft. Wide to clear the rear wheels.

The rake looks kind of small, the box blade looks a little big,
but overall I think it"s not a bad deal. You"re getting close to a
grand worth of attachments. I can"t tell from the picture, but
someone made running boards that just kind of set over the
foot pegs, those might be like that.
Good luck on your new tractor!

Jerry

not really a bad deal with all the implements,
but if you already have a side mount 8N.....
Moving back to a 9N will disappoint you.
at 2500, I'd keep looking. That money will buy you a NAA/hundred series which will feel the same, but make your 8N sit in the shed....

good suggestions on the box blade and rake.
6 foot rake is good, and my most used implement on trails.
4-5 foot box blade is more than enough in some conditions.
Depends on your area too. hard clay here.
If you need to grade or move it, you have to do it after a rain.
makes a mess, but if it dries out, nothing will touch it.
(putting a culvert under one of my trails with the backhoe yesterday, I swear sparks were coming off the ground trying to break thru LOL)

All I know is I borrowed a 5' rake this spring and now want my own.
My uses don't matter that it's not wide enough to cover tire tracks as is in a horse pasture raking up from the winter feeding.
