H Bruce I have a question about the piston rings on an 8n I was putting the new rings on an on #2 piston the spring under the middle ring was broken and I have looked at parts and breakdowns and cannot find this part[/list]

I'll take a pic tomorrow is there a way I can email them to you? It might be an oil ring its under he middle they are stock pistons

If I may help Bruce out a bit, I am GUESSING what you broke was the piston ring "expander".

That would be specific to the manufacturer of the rings and the ring part number, it WON"T be in the factory parts catalog, listed separately.

You will have to contact the seller of the rings. Sometimes, they can order a set for ONE piston, rather that a full set, but, often at quite a high price, compared to the full set divided by four!

For a SINGLE expander, you might try giving Dave Otto a call, with precise dimensions at hand.
