The bucket tilt cylinder leaks down really fast. Just one cylinder in the middle. Maybe a 2" x 18". I've not measured it. Would there possibly be some generic cylinder packing for the piston We could use that just pulled off a roll and cut to size? I'm as you can tell not a hydraulics guy. The neighbor is frozen in fear to take it to a hydraulics shop for a large repair bill. I'm hoping that their could be some kind of packing material that doesn't have to special ordered at a high cost and can be repaired on site. bjr

The older loaders used generic shaft packing and a two way bucket cylinder would also likely use generic rubber cups on the piston. Since the bucket won't hold the piston cups are the likely culprit.

Service is usually straitforwaerd and new packing and seals can be obtained form many sources - herei s one:

They also sell shaft wipers ;-)

I too was frozen in fear about tearing apart the hydraulic cylinders till I seen there is ONLY 1 moving part inside. Now I would rebuild them any day. I have 2 dump cyls on mine and did them both right on loader.

The links TOH posted are what you'll find inside and very easy to replace.

The hardest part I found was that the cups (NOT the V shaped packings) that I bought needed to have center hole installed. Used a spade drill bit to make the hole.
