8Nrear axle bearing

I had a rear axle bearing replaced on my 8N, I have it all put back together but now the hub will not turn, if I loosen the bolts just a little, then it will turn, every thing is installed correctly,,,shims are between housing and backing plate, correct? need help on this matter,,,could the retainer be warped/ some one help me please,,

It's hard to say without seeing it... the oil sealing setup changed over the years, and mis-matched parts could cause that as will a hub with worn splines that slides too far inward on the axle splines when the big nut is TIGHTENED.

My guess is you do not have the correct bearing preload.
I think on those you have to shim them to set preload.
Your manual should tell you how.
Others here will correct me if I'm wrong.

How did you adjust axle bearing preload?

Doubtful but not impossible to warp bearing retainer.

The paper gaskets (4229) are considered a shim as they do affect clearance. As shown in diagram, there is a shim between the trumpet and brake backing plate and between the backing plate and bearing retainer. I put one on the inside and the remainder on the outside of the backing plate.
