Correct Solenoid Question

The last couple months, the solenoid sticks occasionally, and am getting tired of hopping off the tractor to rap it with the end of a screwdriver.....so am looking into picking up a new one....

1951 Ford 8N, 12 Volt Conversion, Side Mount Dizzy.

Pic shows a 4 prong (looks like one off a 2000 Series)with NO wire attached to one of the top prongs. #D2AF11450AA

Will a 3 prong solenoid (6 volt used for an 8N or 800 Series)work?

Tractor starts after 1 revolution always.

Thanks, Tim

Yes---and tractor needs to be in neutral for it to work.....After your question, I am guessing now where you are headed with the answer....:>)

Thanks, Tim

if it's switching with ground.. then I'd suspect any 3 prong ford style ground switching solenoid would work. :)
