NAA hydro. piston backup washer help

Installing new single groove piston and rubber o-ring with backup washer on my 45 2N.
Soaked the new leather backup washer in oil overnight, but I dont see any way to slip it over piston to get in the groove next to the rubber o-ring. Any tricks?
Thanks
Corey

I thought i ordered the neoprene washer with mine when i ordered it, but it came with leather washers. I just stretched mine with my fingers till it would go on the worked it into the groove.

I have not done a N piston in a number of years now.. but last one i did I simply used 2 spoons to walk the leather on. I'd probably opt for the neophrene if I ever did another... but if I had a leather in my hand.. i'd surely use it with no fear.

I was able to get it on the piston over the weekend.
I was sure I would tear ot before it streatched enough.
Soaked it a bit longer and was able to slide it on.
Thanks for the help.
Corey
