Never heard of "Weather-It" must be a Canadian thing. LOL

I would use Krylon over Majic and just be prepared to touch it up when needed.

BTW mine rims are Ford Gray just like the OP's. Nothing wrong with it unless your trying to win a contest. And less paint to keep around.

Weather-it is by General Paint and when doing the floor in my '54 International, I went looking for a marine enamel and came up with Weather-it. It sticks to a rusty surface like you wouldn't believe (like the product advertizes) and is super resistant to scratching weeks later.

I'm going to do the tube sides of my Jube rims with an un-thined coat of it.

My sons and I used to paint tractors as a side job when I worked in town. My oldest son was runner-up Indiana State agri-bissinessman of the year in FFA his senior year for his paint work. Your tractor would surely pass our inspection. Very nice. BTW, I'm missing a rear lug stud and nut on my tractor also. Maybe the lug nut ferry collects them and gives them to others who are missing two or more! LoL

Henry would love ya!

Beautiful!

Bill, I've been meaning to ask . . .

Are the rims traditionally supposed to be the same grey as the body? I'll have to paint my rims soon. My fronts are bright white (previous owner did) and I don't much like it.

Actually, the original rims were Cadmium plated; kinda a galvanized silver color.

The centers were Ford Gray.

A good match for Cadmium is Rustoleum hammered silver.

Good looking tractor, working is what they were made to do.

Thanks re. the RustOleum.

I watched that youTube about the father and son that painted their hubs with gloss grey Rustoleum and it looked pretty nice.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_3UBnqYo8k

Maybe I'll try the silver on the rims themselves as you suggest.

Sounds slick!

Thanks,

Terry

P.S.

Nope . . . don't think I'll go with Rustoleum. Either "Weather-it", Krylon, or Majic Tractor and Implement paint.

http://www.smokstak.com/forum/showthread.php?t=21230

I don't want anything more to do with a paint that doesn't dry so hard it is hard to scratch it with a thumb nail.

I've been phoning around and finding it next to impossible to get Majic paint in ford colors, in Canada. In harmony with the systematic globalist destruction of the western economy, paints and aerosols are now not being allowed into Canada. for instance Amsoil told me that the penetrating fluid I use is not going to be allowed in anymore . . . so I bought two cases.

So . . . can you give me any red and grey Ford paint cross referenced numbers that will allow me to get some paint mixed up?

Thanks,

Terry

Looks great, good job

If it were mine I would have to have a front hood bumper guard with hitch.

I am always running over something, need that front bumper guard.

Looks great! By all means put her back to work.

There's not much that hurts them as bad as sitting.

A scratch can be fixed.

Congratulations on a job well done!
