WHAT IS THE NUMBER OF THESE OLD MOWERS---Blue or Red-3 PT. Thinking 501----is that a Ford number??

I need the belt that runs the pitman or runs to the wooden pitman bar. Where can I get a new one in Michigan???

Anyone know the number of the belt???

Thank you

Ford did build a 501 sickle mower if that is what you are referring to.
The last time I needed a belt for a Ford mower (flail) I called the dealer and they had it in stock. $23 IIRC. Might have found it cheaper somewhere else but the convenience was worth the extra couple of bucks to me.

If you go to the " other N " site in the manual section they have a part breakdown, it shows three possible belts.

The most common belt is
NH Part # 147849
FORD: V-belt, HC-section 48". For 501 sickle mowers with the 10-1/2" sheave. When I replaced mine a couple of years ago I was surprised how hard it was to find - I figured I'd just go down to the autoparts store, no one including TSC had it locally so I ended up getting one from a NH dealer an hour from here. They turn up on ebay too but I was in too much of a hurry.
