PTO shaft 9N

Okay, I am a new, proud owner of one of these work horses. After bush hogging 2 hours last weekend, my lift would not raise. I pulled it into the shop, have drained the water/fluid mix, had the top plate off, and thought I would pull the pto shaft to replace the leaking seal as well. The shaft came out suprisingly easy, but there seems to be an "undercut" area just past center from the rear. Is this normal? Is it possible for the shaft to wear enough in the pump portion to cause pump failure in the watered down hydraulic fluid? Oh, I will have a manual tomorrow, thanks.

not sure what exactly you are asking?

is your issue that you think the pump is not working?

did you check control valve linkage? did you check to see if pto was turning pump? check relief?

check piston and gaskets ( leak.. )

Thanks Soundguy,

The question was does the PTO shaft usually have a smaller diameter section in it? Mine does. It is now back together and working so I guess it"s okay for now.
