Looks like that'll pull some logs out of the woods for sure!

PS: Folks were planting tractors here today with the rain.

I'm going to make lots of trails. We have some old trails my Grandpa had made in the 50's, but they only cover about 1/2 the property. Hard access to fallen trees using a tractor, and even rough going with a 4 wheeler in the brushy areas. I've maintained the trails with my 8N and a brush hog, and every 3/4 years smooth them out with the disc and drag combo. Going to mark trails this weekend, no leaves yet and easy to see where to put them. Probably mark out a few food plots, also.

MR,
Looks good! You will have plenty of power and it will certainly out push an N. All I can afford is a '65 Allis HD3 and hopefully it holds up. Have to bid on it by the 28th. Feel better seeing someone else likes the crawler idea:) Sure it will be very useful.

LOL, I love the idea of a crawler, but seems like most people here in MN think there is solid gold under that rust and grease!

Like to find a D2 or TD6 with the factory PTO on it.

If you roll that on down Nebraska way, i"ve got a pond for you to dig. Your ground up there is probably still frozen anyway.

The JD 450C is a nice machine. It is strong, reliable, fuel efficient, and simple to maintain. Later versions have more complex systems that make them harder (and more expensive) to maintain.

As was said before, that is one excellent winch, too. Professional loggers that work with smaller timber in this area still use 450C's to make a living. That tells you a lot!

In the woods, side screens really help to reduce injury from whipping branches. The rear screen protects from a broken winch cable coming to visit your face. My 850 Case rear screen has a big dent in it from a previous owner's mishap. I don't know what happened, but it must have been exciting enough to need a new pair of shorts!
