Shear bolt in mower

I had the shear bolt? come out yesterday on my mower. Was surprised to find that it is a 1/2" grade 1 bolt. Is this normal?

1/2: gr2 is common.

soft is what you want.

Thanks, was wondering about the diameter. 1/2" seemed pretty large even for a soft bolt like the grade 1 307a bolt!

Gr.2 A307's basic shear bolts. Count the dash's and add 2 that's the universal way to tell what grade you have. Gr.2{none or A307}, Gr.5{3 dash's}, and Gr.8{6 dash's}.
