PTO seal replacement,how to remove oldClutch rusted to shaft

1952 8N PTO seal needs replaced, but, old override clutch is rusted to PTO shaft. both grease fitting & securing bolt are missing, but clutch is rusted fast, unable to remove from tractor shaft . Soaked in "Blaster" for week, hammered, pulled, cussed. Question:Can I remove bolts from "retainer" & pull out the full shaft, spacer, seals, bearings & then remove rusted clutch?. Can the shaft then be reinserted with new stuff by "shade Tree Mechanic"?. Any bright ideas how to remove this bear of rusted metal from PTO shaft. Thanks Dummydoug
 
Many ORCs are held on by a roll pin.
Were you able to get that out?

as royse said.

there should be a roll pin in there. if there was a bolt all the way thru. it wasn't working as an orc!

and yes. if you can get to the bolts you can pul lthe shaft assy.. that's how you'd have to repalce the seal and check the bearing anyway...
 
Hello Royse, Many thanks for diagram of over-run clutch. Helped to detail what I was dealing with. Before it just looked like a rusted glob of metal with 2 shallow holes (grease plugs were missing). Poor old 8N was unused for 10+ years & left out in the open. The Coupler, inner shaft/roll pin was not visible. I was able to drill 1/4" hole into inner shaft & distribute "Blaster"...tapped until loosened. Now able to rotate the coupler around inner shaft to see the roll pin. Going to auto parts store today to buy correct size punch. When I drained the Trans (all 3 plugs) got 2 gal. water & 2 gal of fluid out. Any instructions on pulling, replacing bearings, seals, sleeve & reassembly appreciated. Is it necessary to use some type of special puller to remove entire shaft?. I have the engine running good, but sure I'll need to replace other items to bring her back to life....fun stuff!!. Thank you, thank you. Regards, Dummydoug
