9N 3 wire alternator polarization

I am working on a 9N with the Ford conversion to a 3 wire generator PN 8N-10000-B. I think I need to polarize this generator. Any help will be appreciated.

our title says 'alternator' in error. If 10000B is already installed & connected to regulator, then just short ARM to BATT for a second. If not installed & connected, then tie FLD to case ground (two studs on barrel together) and for 1 second connect pos battery to case ground and battery neg to ARM on rear bearing plate. This assume that battery is POS ground on your tractor. By the way, pulley will spin when you do that, assuming it is free of the belt.
