extra lugs at toplink?

Ok what are those extra attachment points cast into the center section of the rear end for? I've seen people with chains and stabilizers attached there but is there a long pin that's supposed to fit through the whole section? From one side to the other through the rocker's pivot attachment point or do you use them singly as needed with chain and whatnot?

Pics would be great (I tried searching and got nuthin)

Thanks

are you talking about the holes in the roccker where you attach the top link or holes in the trumpet / center casting? i know one of the holes in the casting is for getting the pin in place for the lower pivot point for the rocker.

I believe you are referring to the holes to the outside of the rear axle center housing on 8Ns. Some of the early rear attached sickle bar mowers used a bracket that attached to the rocker mount on the housing and there was a special pin that went all the way thru to secure it.

Mbramble got it exactly right. Bruce thanks for the tips but #34 doesn't affect my 3 hole rocker (plunger, pivot and toplink).

I was debating turning a chunk of stainless down to fit all the way across but that hinged one is pretty neat.... guess I don't need either one and I should just put a shackle on there to hold my chains.

Thanks for all the replies.

Here my horse shoe swinging drawbar That's help in position by the long pin if these ears for the long pin on the rear center housing is what you're talking about.

The 2 outer ones were for 8N/s attaching the Dearborn rear mounted manure fork lift top links and had individual pins.
Use them however you want.
