Steering wheel shaft

52 8N. How can 90W oil be put into the steering gears box? With the steering wheel off the shaft looks hollow.

The '50-'52 models could be filled through the upper right hand side bolt hole where the dash panel attaches to the steering box.

It wont go down the shaft you can forget that...If you just want to add a little to it pour it down the side of shaft it takes a looog time to drain into the box... A 52 should have a fill hole in front of the upper housing just above the dash... There's a nutter way someone will come along and fill you in on it...

OK, will try your advice. I came across a site called My Ford Tractor. It said the top bearing can be lubed down the shaft? I will try all 3 ways. I will let you know what does the job, maybe all will work.

hobo and the other user hit it.

right side dsh/bat box suppt bolt goes thru into box. can fill there.

and as Hobo said, you can dump some lube beside the worm shaft to get a lil on top bearing.. but is easier if top bushing is out.

you could drill and tap a 7/16 bolt for a grese zerk and pump gear oil or 00/0 grease in as well.
