12 volt front mount coil

I recently installed a 12 volt conversion kit on a 48 8n including
a new coil.power to coil but no spark. Is there a test as I
suspect coil is faulty? Engine runs fine with jury rigged setup
using a standard 12 volt round coil......Regards, Frank

the 2.5 ohm 12v square coils tend to like the oem ballast resistor, if you have the oem resistor AND a conversion ceramic resistor inline to the coil it may be too much.

do standard check with a test lamp inline. lamp should blink on and off as you turn over. if it does, at least points open and close and coil primary has continuity.

may be as simple as incorrectly seated coil..
