I made the mistake of stopping at a couple of tractor dealers yesterday on the way back from a little trip and man, let me tell you those things are eexxxpensive! I looked at a Kioti ck35. Nice machine with front end loader and has a fiberglass canopy on it. Thing is that it is a 2012 with 6 hours on it. He wants to sell that as a new machine? I know, I know, it's a left over and still "new" but the gas cap on top is chrome and quite rusty from sitting outside and you know the tires/hydraulic hoses and rubber stuff is degraded by 2 years in the sun outside on the lot. Get this, he wants $19,558. No way in he** would I pay that for a 2 year old machine. I could get it for $16,558 for cash. He didn't have any ck30 models I wanted to look at. Now get this...he had it inside the shop and the seat/computer/joystick was off the machine. He says they were "upgrading " the computer and the joystick. The stick had trouble with the touch control and would not operate correctly. I have read about that issue before...no thanks, not interested...well maybe, if he knocked off about $3-$4K off the top of the cash price.

Next up! A new Mahindra 3016 4wd/shuttle shift, which I really liked. No canopy though. I can get $200 off for being former military and $500 power package rebate (have to do that online after the sale though). This is $17,185 for tractor/loader. To get the two rebates, I would have to also get two implements, doesn't matter which. Post hole digger/bush hog/quick hitch etc. PHD and Quick Hitch would cost $845 + $155 then the rebates would be $700 back so it would pay for those, after the fact of course. I did really like the little Mitsubishi engine, very quiet and still tier 3 (2013 model).

Boy, these prices sure make the old gal ('52 8N) look prettier and prettier...you know, kind of like being at the bar at closing time with about 6 bottles under your hat and the ugly gal at the bar next to gets to looking better and better...lol

Front end loader would be nice, and 4 wheel drive would be nice and diesel would be .......see, she's lookin' better and better already. lol

All that dang plastic on those new machines would sure make me nervous. I just know I would bust something every time I got into something a little rough. :?
