From running good to now smoking

The 2N has been running good. Died on me last week. Checked
the fuel and it looked like it was down to the last gallon. So I put
5 in. Fired it up and it would only run with the choke pulled out
and was smoking real bad. Was able the get it back to my work
area. Helped that it was a little downward slope getting there.
The Exhaust leaks a little at the manifold to pipe clamp. I had oil
running down the side of the pipe from that leak. Didn't have
much time to mess with it. So I removed the plugs and shot in a
little ATF into each cylinder. Turned in over and gave it a few
more shots. Got home now and gave it a few turns and replaced
the plugs. Got it back running with the help of a can of starting
fluid. Took about half a can before it would run on its on. But is
still smoking real bad and is barely running. I pulled the plugs.
All looked wet. #1 and #3 were a little sooty. Did a compression
(Dry only) two were at 110 psi and two are 115 psi. Any idea on
what's going on here? I had rebuilt the carb before that last tank
of gas. Plugs are the ones that came with it, Champion H12s.
They look near new. I haven't replaced the points. I only buffed
them up when I got the tractor. I don't think that would have
anything to do with the problem I'm having now. That was the
first tank of fuel I run threw it since getting it. I did have Sea
Foam in the fuel.

get her running and pull plug wires one at a time. see if you find, 1 or probably 2 that make less or no difference to engine running than the others.

you may be banging on 2 cyls..

Did you use your two-cycle chain saw gas?

Acts like it was clean DIESEL fuel you put in.

Drain a little out of carb drain and see if it is cold when evaporating (gas) from your fingers or oily like diesel.

What color is the Smoke, blue black or white? Leaking spark plug wires. Firing order and good spark. If you have oil running out the exhaust could be blow by not getting out of the sump pull the oil filler cap while its running should be smoke coming out if you see liquid oil splashing out could be a ring problem or compression clean oil cap. Whatever the problem unburnt material is a incomplete burn somewhere and the choke out means air fuel mixture problem.

simple things first
When you ran it out of gas, some debris might have been pulled in and is holding the needle off its seat or blocking it.
Surprised it started if that's the problem, ether might have got it going. But it would run very rough as random plugs would foul and fire sometimes and it would smoke a lot (dark smoke and maybe some blue smoke mixed in when the fouled plugs fire)
Full choke back to the shed might have pulled some oil into the cylinders past the rings. A good engine is going to get its air any way it can.

Soundguy may be right. Got it running and pulled the #2 plug. Couldn't tell any difference it's running put it back on and pulled #4. Might had changed its running some. But it died before I hooked it back up. Then the starter locked up. I loosened up the bolts on the starter. Banged on it. And tried rocking it back and forth by hand. Then hooked the front end load with a chain on my 8N and rocked it. Can't unlock it. Was going to pull the starter. Looks like I will have to pull the starter out in pieces. The plate against the bell housing won't come lose. Could it not firing right cause all the oil blow by? And no, I didn't put diesel in it.

Not for sure it it did run out of fuel. But I've tried turning on the fuel than turning it off. Then cranking it. Still the same. I will all most only run with starting fuel. If it was a fuel issue, would that cause all the oil blow by?
