The 2N has been running good. Died on me last week. Checked
the fuel and it looked like it was down to the last gallon. So I put
5 in. Fired it up and it would only run with the choke pulled out
and was smoking real bad. Was able the get it back to my work
area. Helped that it was a little downward slope getting there.
The Exhaust leaks a little at the manifold to pipe clamp. I had oil
running down the side of the pipe from that leak. Didn't have
much time to mess with it. So I removed the plugs and shot in a
little ATF into each cylinder. Turned in over and gave it a few
more shots. Got home now and gave it a few turns and replaced
the plugs. Got it back running with the help of a can of starting
fluid. Took about half a can before it would run on its on. But is
still smoking real bad and is barely running. I pulled the plugs.
All looked wet. #1 and #3 were a little sooty. Did a compression
(Dry only) two were at 110 psi and two are 115 psi. Any idea on
what's going on here? I had rebuilt the carb before that last tank
of gas. Plugs are the ones that came with it, Champion H12s.
They look near new. I haven't replaced the points. I only buffed
them up when I got the tractor. I don't think that would have
anything to do with the problem I'm having now. That was the
first tank of fuel I run threw it since getting it. I did have Sea
Foam in the fuel.
