I have been looking for a small coolant leak on my 2n. It apprears that the king pin is up against the radiator...could that be the source...anybody else have this problem?

You sure the leak doesn"t originate higher up and running down to the King Pin? Check the fins on the radiator to see if they are wet with anti-freeze and the hose connections to be sure they are tight.

not uncommon to see a leak at the lowest part of an assy. ;) That's called gravity.

as said. look over all higher. pressure test cooling system even..

Yes that could be the source if some how you chafed a leak in the rad. But as stated check for leak due to hoses and higher up. If in fact you have chafed a hole it needs to be R&R. If it is in the tubes leak you could use stop leak. Rinse off the entire rad. Start it and watch for a leak. Fluid can migrate from anywhere.

Yes.

Not uncommon for the front axle to wear through the lower radiator tank if the front axle bushing and/or pin is worn and/or if the radiator support pads are not in place.

This can also be caused by placing the washers on the axle pin in the wrong position allowing the axle to move too far forward. Usually, it is a combination of two or more of the above issues.

I have also experienced leakage from the mounting bolts and jacket, caused by jarring or pressure to radiator.
R and R cured it. Nice repair in Wayland MI.

Spray the whole area off with Brake cleaner and watch it.
Doesn't really matter if you get it clean.
Once the Brake cleaner evaporates it will look dry.
Any new leak, i.e. at the source, will look wet.
Works for oil leaks too.
