I just don't get it!

I had an earlier post titled 2N questions. I solved most of the
issues I had in that post. However I have gone from running
and stopping due to fuel flow problem to not starting at all. I
have even gone so far as replacing the carb. Instead of no fuel
I have fuel coming out of everywhere. Fuel is dripping from the
carb body, out the air intake and from the joint where the
exhaust meets the manifold. I have not messed with anything
since it was last running ie plug wires. I am at a loss as to why
things keep getting worse.

The float appears to be fine. I have no spark though. Thinking the resistor may be the problem. After I changes the starter there was a pop from that area. Shows 2.0 ohm on the 200 setting on my meter. Normal? It has a 12volt conversion and the resistor appears to be original. If this isn't right what is the proper resistor.

" the resistor appears to be original. "

Does it look like the picture?

" Shows 2.0 ohm"

It should be .3 or so ohms.....but don't worry about it, It could be your meter. Regardless, just jump it & eliminate the resistor from the circuit.

" I have no spark though."

How are you checking for spark? What is the voltage reading a the top of the coil?

" The float appears to be fine."

So how is raw gas pouring out of your carb if the float is set correctly & shutting off hte gas coming into the bowl?

Hey PI its you needle and seat or your choking it to much. Shake the float see if it has gas in it. If float is ok your needle and seat are stuck. Do exactly as Bruce says and he will get you up and going.

Checked for spark with an inline spark tester. Nothing showing on any of the cylinders. The wiring runs from the key to a ceramic resistor then up to the one In the picture. From there it runs out to the coil. The conversion seems shoddy at best. I was thinking the fuel problem is because the tractor is not starting. I don't know but if I don't figure this thing out soon ther maybe a 2N for sale.

What is the voltage reading a the top of the coil?

Charge the battery.

Jump both resistors.

See if you have spark.

Don't bother to even try until the battery is fully charged.

Got it! It was the ceramic resistor. I will finish upgrading the coil and stuff when I get the $. Special thanks to you Bruce for your patience. I actually put it together from your 75 tips. Thanks to everyone else. Couldn't have done it without you. The carb is not leaking now either.

Bruce it appears that the 12 volt conversion was a low budget operation. It is my understanding that the 12 has to be stepped down to 6 thus the ceramic resistor. I guess it then has to run through the ignition coil resistor. It appears that I am still running the 6 volt coil. I may be way off on this but it fire right up after I changed the ceramic resistor. Next on my parts list is a 12 volt coil so I can eliminate that resistor. I hold to the theory of the more parts in a system the more stuff there is to break.
