Bought a 5-16 bottom auto rest JD plow this morning so I can plow with the big tractor this year!

I'll keep the 2 bottom because I do a few gardens for people. That 1206 Farmall is way to big to turn around at some places I plow!

Darn...I wanted to see you plow in road gear with the 1206 pulling the 2 bottom!

Frost is starting to come out in places here.

Yup, here too!

LOL Colin, I think that 1206 could pull that 2 bottom in road gear. There is a little difference between a 23 HP tractor and 112 HP.

On the subject of plowing. I'm happy. I wasn't looking forward to plowing 67 acres with an 8N and that 2 bottom. Best part is it's a JD so I can get parts for it and it comes with another plow for parts! Kinda fell into this one and the price was too good to walk away from.

Your lucky to have found one most have gone the way
of the buggy whip due to min/till and
scrapers.However my understanding min/till does
need plowed from time to time. Have seen some 4-bot
spin plows around working this year south and SW of
you guys. Have fun.

It would be fun to operate a big tractor/plow like that. Of course plowing with most anything is interesting and to me, enjoyable.
But you're right - 67 acres with 2 bottoms might get old.

First day and half might be fun, then it would get old real fast. Don't know when I'll be able to get in the field but you are more than welcome to come up and play if you can.

That would have been a lot of ground to turn over with the N. I think you'll be a much happier camper in the 1206. I had the same thing happen with the grain drill. Wasn't in the budget for this year, but the price was too good and it was too close to pass by. Sometimes you have to grab opportunity by the proverbial horns. Or something... :)

Plow was in the budget, just wasn't going to pay 1200-1300 for a plow that parts were not available for. This for 600 was just too good to believe!
