I think thats a wasp trap. put sugar water in the bottom and hand it or sit it somewhere on a table

bingo- I did a search on mason glass wasp traps & there it was! once again I found the correct answer here.

It must be like a hav-a-heart or catch and release trap------- why else is there air holes in the lid? lol. 8o}
 
I've used 2 liter soda bottles too. someone just gave me this thing & they had no idea what it was. obviously, neither did I.
I try to catch all the yellow jackets I can they have a tendency to harass my bee hives.
