OK to drive 8n with lift cover off?

Is there any good reason why I shouldn't drive my 8n when the lift
cover is off? Not far, just in and out of the garage a few times.

Lots of images jump to mind  I can't think of any potential harm assuming you don't fall in but if it werre me I'd probably roll it

Hate to disappoint everyone, but I bolted a scrap of plywood down over the hole, mainly to keep water and mice out, but also me.
