OT Holy exhaust pipes batman!

Pulled these off the old 53 mercury today - pre-soaked all nuts and bolts with liquid wrench and then used my craftsman cordless impact driver and the nuts just flew off - made a cut with the sawzall and a couple of belts with the mallet and the mufflers were off! I thought this was going to be a really tough job - new tailpipes on the way and went with flowmaster mufflers. Hopefully the installation will go as easily. What effect, if any, do you think the rusted out pipes would have on running of the motor?

None unless you were coming through Talladega AL in
about 1951 when the chief was hiding behind that old
filling station sign!

...with a load of moonshine in the trunk...lol

Well, I hope not too much quieter - hoping new mufflers will produce nice sound and whole pipes will direct all the noise/fumes from under the car to the rear where everyone can enjoy them!!! (the sound that is!!!) :)
