There is no hole under the cap. There is a
hole in the filler neck that should be
attached to the over flow tube. The bottom
of the cap should be below that. Once you
get more than 4 lbs of pressure in the
system the spring on the cap compresses
and the boiling coolant escapes into the
overflow tube.Check to see if the cap is
seated correctly. And check out tip # 24
too.

1951 --- 8N --Don't take much stuff in the
radiator to cause it to run warmer than it
should..is the radiator clean...used a small limb a
jillion times to rake off a layer of broom straw
bloom and such--then be good to go again...assuming
you have a puller fan blow all the water hose
pressure u can from the motor side and try to clean
any dirt and stuff out of your radiator fins....

no Tube attached.. i was wondering if the cap was weak... i checked coolant level and it was about 1 to 2 inches below filler. i left it there. This was before i started. i all ways check fluids and grease before i start.. it was getting dark... ill check everything else tomorrow. Thanks Guys

Is the water really coming out the proper hole? My rad neck had cracked, so no pressure could build up, and it would boil over very easily...

Checked everything out. no overflow tube attached.. Coolant is approx. 2 inches from top bout where it was when i checked it before i started . Blew out radiator with air hose.. was really clean.. Coolant nice and green. wasnt pouring out was more of slow drip from overflow port...Never any steam. motor was not overly hot yesterday.. it was warm.i noticed when the cap is on tight like it is suppose to be.. the wing isnt straight. i dont over tighten just turn until it stops... any other ideas?

1-2 inches below the neck is too much.
just enough to cover the fins is fine.
Once you find the right level, ya really don't even need a cap on smooth ground and 70 degrees :)
Once the level is right, if it's still doing it, flush the cooling system good and check the thermostat for proper opening.

will try that. i will put cap on right and fill it up with coolant. it wasnt spewing or any stem more like a drip....Thanks guys will post results as soon as it quits raining...lol
