2n lift issue, pulling pivot bar out of control fork

Recently while plowing snow with my 2n, the small pivot bar on the end of the control valve has been pulling out of my control fork. After draining the fluid and inspecting the bar and fork, it doesn't appear overly worn and I can slightly spread the fork and re-install the bar and everything works fine - for awhile. With the snow banks higher than ever, I think what is happening as I raise the backblade, it is putting too much force on the bar in the up position and causing it to "un-hook." Is something out of adjustment or am I missing something? I completely rebuilt and restored this tractor off of the knowledge and tips I learned from this awesome forum/website. Not to mention the $1-2K I spent on parts here! LOL THanks in advance....

I haven't been in a 9n /2n lift but when I had that problem with my Ferguson TE20 years ago and talked to a old Ford mechanic the handed me a zip tie and said to pull it tight around the fork slightly above the attachment point. It has worked for the last 15 years.

The 2N uses the Ferguson System and the "newer" TO-30 had a stabilizer on the control fork that held the two arms of the control fork parallel to pevent this. The zip tie that the other poster suggested would do the same thing

Thanks for the quick replies gents! I will try the zip tie trick, perhaps as you've suggested the control fork is worn enough to be flexing a bit and allowing the pivot bar ball(s) to pop out. Hopefully this does the trick and I can get through the winter - despite my best efforts to drain the oil, my face still ends up covered in oil as I have to look up and re-connect the bar from the bottom drain hole! :)

Interesting tool, thanks for sharing! It's one of those deals where I wish I had girl hands to wedge in the bottom of the case, my fat fingers take up too much space and barely work in the frigid hyd oil! lol

Did the trick! Plowed last night after another good snow storm in northern Wisconsin and lift worked perfect. Now, if I can get my two heavy duty zipties to hold up for 15 years soaked in hyd oil like the one poster - I'm a believer... Thanks again guys, awesome website/forum!!
