Tach/dwell meter on 9N

I have a "41 9N and trying to figure out how to check the RPM's. Can I run a wire from the inside of the coil( going to the points) and attach a dwell meter to check rpm or is there a simpler way?

Get a gauge or meter that simply attaches to a plug wire.

Google should be your friend. I've seen a few, not the prettiest setup but works.

ther than a non-contact (usually optical, Hall-effect, etc.) tachometer, inductive pickup type pulling radiation from a plug wire, or old vibration reed tach, I think bringing the wire outside is about it.
