Decades ago, I found that the rear blade was the way to go.
Spent many a night snowplowing the runway, here, at Gettysburg Airport.
Going forward was neat. 3rd. gear with the blade angled abour 30 deg. Really made the snow fly. Gnd speed was pretty fast.
However, later for the parking facility.......had to turn the scraper blade 180 deg. Make the area pretty wide. Reverse gear about the same gnd. speed as 2nd. gear.
The only time we ever used the 1st gear....plowing or pulling the hay wagon while the elders loaded the bales on the wagon.
Therefore, 1st gear in my 9N should be pretty NEW!
