Some of the old lawn tractors had a similar set up but they used a rod that you twist to un latch it and then push or pull the rod to angle the blade. No reason your idea shouldn't work.

Where the heck did you find a 'blackboard' ? I've got a couple of 'classroom/student' slates(in wooden frames) that I use for tallying mouse kills and such. Worth Gillions on eBay !!

I salvaged it out of a building they were tearing down about 25 years ago.

I've never priced it. Just use it a lot.
This one is about 36" h x 44 w.
I have a smaller one - about 2'x2' that I built a nice oak frame and trough for that I should sell.
Need to make a nice frame for this one someday.

Farmers that have chopper wagons, use this method for unhooking wagons,Minus spring therby eliminating need to dismount to pull pin. Empty wagon does same and then extra person helps in hookup.
