I have a 1950 8N, with a tired engine. I am wondering if the 4 cylinder engine from an NAA will bolt into my 8N without a bunch of modifications or adaptors.

I wish I had it. Just found a deal on a nice Jube with a bad engine!

I know you were asking about a Jube motor, but if your 8N has a
front mount distributor, one out of a 9N/2N would be an easy swap.
If it's a side mount there would be a little more involved but
still a fairly easy swap.
Doesn't have the benefits of the 134, but it's another option.

I was hoping a Jube engine would fit, as I would like to add a few more horsepower to the tractor, and there is a very limited amount I can do to the stock 8N engine to get more out of it, short of a turbocharger or some such, and I really don't want to spend that kind of money. The engine is in need of an overhaul. Other than spending an outrageous fortune on a FUNK kit and then another fortune on a flathead V-8, Im not really sure what I want to do. I have also contemplated trying to swap in an old Falcon 144, 170, or 200 cubic inch inline 6, but that would probably put me right up against the same cost as the other conversion. Anyone have any ideas or have done any successful swaps? Other than ruining a good tractor by putting another brand of engine in it?

As much as I like the N series, I'd say either do the overhaul and live with that, or look for a Ford with more horses, like the 100 or 1,000 series or such. They are a lot more tractor and some can be found at reasonable prices.

You can throw a 1000 HP drag motor in it, and the rear end/trans is still only designed to handle about 25 HP.

Either, rebuild it as best you can(cost wise) or upgrade to a bigger and more equipped machine.

I agree. my dad had an 8n funk conversion with a ford industrial 6 cylinder. it eventually tore out the differential. our 4 cylinder has never had any drive train problems.
