Mineral oil?

I know this sounds weird but I had a use for mineral oil at our shop at one time so I bought a 55 gallon drum of Citgo Sentry 19 oil. After it came in I discovered that this was not the correct material for the application and I am now stuck with a drum of this.

My question is:

Do you guys think there would be a market for this if I re-packaged it in 5 gallon containers?

Not that I need something else to do at the shop but I hate to see that drum just sitting there collecting dust.

I am thinking Ebay.

What eight is it? Rock hounders use light oil in lapidary saws and the oil is getting costly. might find a local rock club and ask , you might find a ready market depending on what it is. I will have to look it up and see what you have.. I use diesel in one saw and used ATF in the other. diesel can be dangerous to use if the saw gets hot. mine does not.

Bob, Massey Ferg tractors used mineral oil. Gear
oil not good because of the hyd pump in the belly
Manual called for mineral 80 winter 90 mineral in
summer, tho most used 80 year around. Most small
and midsize used 8 gallons. Chuck

I just bought 8 gals of NAPA GL-1 mineral oil 90 weight and changed the differential, transmission, hyd oil in my 1957 TO-35 Ferguson tractor.

I paid around $16 per gal for the oil at Napa.

I would think you could sell it if it is the same type oil.

if it has not been opened will the company not take it back?????????

Not sure what weight your oil is but our local Ford tractor dealer told me that mineral oil is what I should put in my 8N for trans. fluid when I change it. Not sure if it is better or what. Just relaying the message.

I use to use mineral oil or as we called it "Bean oil" in Harley flat trackers. Worked good to lubricate but i know for a FACT that if left for a long time without running engine it would sludge up in my case the oil passages in the crank pin on these engines. My reason to switch to current oil.
