It is pretty easy to make a tool to pull the pilot bearing.
Take a piece of 1/4" round stock about a foot long and bend a short J hook on one end.
Clamp a vice grip on the long part of the J hook you just made.
Reach the J hook in behind the bearing and use a hammer to tap the vice grip. The pilot bearing is just a light press fit and will tap out easily.
I have a cool tool that's made for that. A slide hammer made by Owatonna Tool Co.
Bought it at a yard sale about 20 years ago for a couple of bucks. One of those things you hardly ever use but nice to have when you need it.
