proof meter question

Ok......One of a thousand dumb questions as I start this hi crop conversion on the 8n......One......I have a 48 tractor ......and I want to put a proof meter on it......I know.....not original....but the proof meter is just so practical......so....almost original!!......I have the 52 panel with the requisite opening for said proof meter......do I need a late model governor.....linkage issues?......I only have the 48...got nothing to compare.....so I need some input....like always!!!......999 to go!!....Thanks guys!!

You'll need the late model governor with the proofmeter drive, the cable, and the proofmeter. That's it. Simple bolt-on job, no other changes required.

Salvage yards, classifieds on tractor sites, ebay if you're desperate. Ask around. Good originals are best. You can buy new offshore aftermarket replacement governors from numerous sources. Some of them might even work for a while.

I just installed a proofmeter on my 49.

Pretty easy to do. I found my governor on eBay.
