Which hookup for throttle end?

When I took the exhaust manifold off a few weeks ago (to fix a crack), I sort of got the rod ends to the carb/throttle/governor mixed up. It's on my '52 sidemount 8N. Which lever does the long throttle rod, that moves when I pull on the throttle lever, go to? The governor has a lever on the inside (against the engine) and one on the outside, need to know which to hook to?

I didn't go out and look, but I think the long rod goes to the long lever.
Someone will correct me if I've got them reversed.

I have a manual too L.B, it's in the shop where I actually work
on the tractors. Not in the house next to the computer! LOL

I'm sure someone will verify. If not I'll walk out and look at my 8N
when it stops the freezing rain garbage that's going on right now.

So, what you gonna do now? You have both answers. Tally the vote? Pick who to believe? Experiment?
I say go with Bruce & Royce and half way with LDoyle. (Furthest from engine & long)

That is where mine is I am not sure if it has what
he needed and I never think about I do most of my
work by ear.

Thanks everyone...and the survey said....long rod to the long lever!
Well, at least we didn't have to go out in the rain! LOL

I walked through the mud puddles down to the barn and somehow got it right. Long arm to the long rod. Thanks for the help fellows.

I m sure you no longer have this problem but I went out to look at mine today and I remembered wrong . The SHORT lever is closest to the engine But the long lever does connect to the throttle lever by the long rod .I guess I can only remember half what I used to .

Heck, I would be very happy with only half! I go to pulling off levers and what not and think, "Oh, Don't need a pic, I'll remember where that goes". Only to discover a day or two later...oh crap! Ennie Mennie Minnie Moe, where does this one go.

Seems "guessing" got me by a few tests in school. I hated reading all that Greek mythology stuff in the 7th grade and managed to get by with just scanning the material and guessimatating a good bit. Odd that some of the things I did not like in school or college, I enjoy looking up and researching on the internet now. Maybe I do better like that. Taught myself to play piano (at 7 using my much older sisters adult books, quite a surprise to the family at that time because I was doing it one summer while they were all way at work and surprised them when they were in the kitchen and mother thought it was her playing but it little ol' me.) and guitar (13) and even work on vintage mustangs and trucks and occasionally mess up a tractor. I think as we get older (57 now), we tend to "study" on things more. It's nice to have the internet and knowledgeable people to lean on.
