OT: very dangerous chainsaw

Looks like over kill, but don't look that dangerous. I use to have a 'Mall' two man chainsaw. Had handle bars like on a bike for the person on the engine side. Then it had a handle on the blade tip for the other to hold. It was something to see in operation.

A close friend of mine has a Mall bought new in (I believe) 1949. When small, I watched him and another use it to fell large maple trees for pulp.

He has restored it and has another identical model for parts.

"Don't try this at home"

Dang, now what am I going to do with that Chebby motor?
Guess I could build a weed eater..... ;)

Yeah - we had a Lombard 2 man saw - engine end must have weighed 75# - just set it on a log when bucking, and try to catch it before it hit the ground - had to turn the blade sideways for felling, but boy could that sucker cut.

cool
I'd put some motor mounts in my loader bucket, remote throttle....fun

ahhhhh V8 sounds
frozen and snowbound here
guess I'll go watch some drag race and pull videos
(I snowplow with tractors now, but I sure miss the sound of my old plowtruck,
302 powered little Bronco with open headers, no doors)

Decided to look on Ebay to see if anyone was selling one like mine. Here is one that looks some what like mine did. This doesn't have the blade. My blade was 4 foot. Still have a couple of the chains. Would still have the saw, but it was one of those deals where someone figured they needed it more than me. Getting the blades sharpened was a problem. Took them to a saw shop that all they did was sharpen and rebuild blades. They said they had no way to sharpen one of those. So I use to just do the best I could by hand.

My friend might be interested in buying your Mall chains if you would like to sell them.

I suppose I'm just overcautious about safety....;-)
I just posted it to see reactions.

The only thing I would be scared of is a thrown rod or heaven
forbid a blown crank or flywheel.
I would tend to keep the RPMs down as much as possible.
