Here in Vermont the saw might go between $200 to $400 depending on its condition(bearings and shaft) and especially the condition of that blade. An equipment dealer would give you less. If it has any cracks in it no matter how small, it is not safe to use and a new blade will be needed. We used to use one, but it is in semi retirement in a neighbor's barn. For a lot of that size wood we now use a Stihl 006, more flexible and portable.

I have one that I have been trying to sell for $100 with no interest shown yet, it is a Dearborn like that but mounted on a stand instead of 3 point hitch. I have the pulley but it is rotten, the gearbox is good.

Wow that was fast...thanks...it is operational I guess I will put it on Craigslist for $100 firm.

Stay away from that thing if you value your limbs.

I've got an old one that I'm running with a 3 HP Fairbanks but it's just for show.

I'll stick with the chain saw to cut wood.

Shaft and pulley system should be worth that. Could be use to run other machinery. Looks like about the shaft I have to run my Rock Crusher. I could run it 3 point, but it did come with it's own 4 cylinder engine out of a combine.

Pulley is $65 if 1 1/8, more if 1 3/8, saw rig $175, blades alone $50 if good. They are a great chain saw saver and much more efficient.

Buzz saws do not sell well but you should be able to get your $100 asking price for the saw, and, perhaps $150 for the saw and pulley (asuming the pulley is the common 1 1/8" version) if you are not in a great hurry.

Last fall, I watched a later, PTO driven (no belt) Dearborn/Ford saw in very good condition (good blade and good original paint) sell at a very well attended dealer auction. I dropped out at $75, and it sold for $85. I expect that the buyer sold the blade and scrapped the rest.

I bought this home-made one along w/ a PTO belt pulley for $75 here in VA about 5 years ago. According to the seller, the saw "worked last year". Didn't matter to me, because all I wanted was the belt pulley. The saw is now yard art.

75 Tips

DS,
Have the one shown in the photo.Did some fine tuning on it and enjoy using it. Grew up using a buzz saw on an old farm in northern Minnesota. Not good for anything over 6-8 inch diameter. This saw has its place and the chain saw has its place. Neither is safer than the other if you use common sense and concentrate on the job at hand. Bought it for $85.00 including pulley. Find the right buyer and it will sell.
