8N position control/draft control

For a friend. When the small lever is put in draft control position the hydraulics will not raise when the larger lever is brought to the upper position. No response at all. Yes clutch is out and pto is turning.

When in position control the hydraulics raise, but perhaps not all the way up.

What is he looking at for a possible solution?

3 chances out of 10 that the quadrant adjustment will fix it.

9 chances out of 10 that pulling the top cover & adjusting w/ Zane's jig will fix it.

I'm no expert on these hydraulic systems, I've only done a few,
but the adjustments for both the position control and draft modes
are done under the lift cover.
Zane sells a jig that makes the adjustments easy to do.
It comes with instructions and a new cam follower pin.
The pin is a common wear part that usually needs replacing.
Second paragraph if I got the link right this time! Zane

I ASSUME he is going to moldboard plow? If NOT there's NO reason to put the control in "draft" position.

Yep. Mainly plows, because they have "suck', meaning that they are continuously trying to pull themselves deeper into the ground, and are about the next thing to a boat anchor.
A good plow SUCKS...
