Ok on 10-17-13 you posted that the tractor in the photo is not a war tractor. How do you know that without the serial #?. You also had a reply about a 2N had the wrong decal cause it was a Thompson air cleaner, after much searching I found the decal.Was the yellow one a war deal or did Ford have them made or what? What does it say? I cant read it. The decal sets say 9N 2N but some have a decal for draft control. I am thinking the decal makers need your help.

No. I didn"t say your tractor was NOT a war time 2N. A true war time model would have the steel wheels, magneto, choke knob thru grille, hand crank, no starter but a plug plate over pocket, special idler, no ammeter -plugged hole in dash. The 2N line ran as usual with everything being 9N -rubber tires, etc. Only when the outside suppliers all came together and the parts were ready for assembly did they build the war time on steel machines. When we say "war time" we really mean the steel wheel/magneto tractor though I guess technically any unit built during the war years would be war time. YES -many tractors were built with rubber, starters, amp gauges, etc.
