Has NOT been a good day!!!
Leslie...my wife...Had a severe auto accident, this morning, and is now going through extensive operation. She has been in surgery for about 3 hrs, and we will be needed many prayers from you guys, to help us get through all of this!!!!
I have talked to her once since I arrived, and she has enough facalties to at least acknowledge of who I am and what she is going through right now.
Many broken bones, and having trouble keeping her blood pressure sustained.

Rolled the car at least twice, and landed up-side-down in a ravine!!!!

Not looking too good right now.!!!

Thanks for reading this!!!! Cannot afford to lose her after 53 yrs!!! Doctor says he will try to save her for us!!!!

Gary

We are keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers. Our best to your family and to help keep all the positive thoughts you can flowing.

So sorry to hear that Gary.
Joan and I will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers too.

Gary i hope the best for her. Life if fragile at best so we have to make the best of what we have and only only has that in his hands and we can not say when why or where

Dang ol' buddy I hate to hear this! Hang in there & tell her to do the same.

Just got back tothe house for a shower, and some much needed sleep.
The wife got out of surgery @ About 10:30 P.M. this eve. Doctor rebuilt the muscle and skin on her left arm, and was able to get her blood pressure somewhat stabilized, and flow back into the arm. I'm not going to attempt to explain all the damage to her left arm, but it was NOT a pretty sight to see!!!!
He has her on a ventilator to help with her breathing, and says she will stay in intensive care for about 3-4 days!!! (touch and go for awhile there)
Numerous injuries include 5 broken ribs, one of which nicked the lft. lung.....a broken shoulder, and arm, lft side.....and numerous cuts and scrapes on her lower legs, and face.

More up-date to follow in the next few weeks.

Thank you all, for your concerns and prayers!!!

I gotta get some sleep.....then back to the hospital, early in the morning!!!!

I now know what it is like to completely come apart at the seams!!! Ain't fun I can tell ya!!!!!
Doctor told us that she will be in the hospital, for around three weeks, and this is only if the operation tonight holds. They will be working on her broken bones, as her heath get better!!!

Later!!

Gary

From your description of the wreck situation sounds like it is fortunate she is alive! It will be a long pull through recovery and rehab. but your love and assistance will get her through the situation. We will keep you both in our prayers and look forward to reports of progress from you.

You and your wife are in my thoughts and prayers. I will also pray for your doctors and surgeons.

May the Lord watchover and keep both of you.

So sorry to hear this tough news, but thankful she's still with you. Count on prayers for her, you, and your family from eastern NC, and those and the ones from all across the US will certainly have a positive affect.

Praying for both of you! Both of you just try to think clearly when they ask you for decisions. Don't be afraid to ask questions to make sure you understand what they are doing or want to do next.

Gary: Tried to call. If you see this, please post the name of the hospital where Les is being treated. We would like to send flowers. -----------Bert

Sorry to here about her accident... do what you have to do and never look back...

Start a written record of all that happens at the hospital,,, try and be their when they change shifts and listen to the nurses go over her condition with the new shift nurse even if you have to follow them...

If all goes well she will leave the hospital and go to a Rehab,,, start your search for one,,, medicare will pay for at least 20 days... They will also offer some home rehab and assistance...

Gary,

I am so sorry to hear of this terrible event. We send only our best wishes for her recovery, but know that it will not be quick or easy. She is going to need to fight to regain strength and mobility. You will be helping her to have the will to keep up the difficult fight.

This brings back memories of my oldest daughter in a terrible roll over car accident 12 years ago. When the State Patrol officer called to tell us of her accident, he cautioned that we should drive carefully to the hospital she was transported to. His concern was that in our concern and grief that we also might be involved in another accident. As you drive to the hospital many times in the next weeks and maybe longer, keep that advice in mind. You will be no good to Leslie if you get laid up. The roads will be getting icy and require the best of our driving skills.

The best to both of you!
