Have a few days off, so this morning I took the
brush hog off the 860 and put the rear blade on to
get ready for winter snow removal....hopped on the
49 8N and started mowing grass..took these pics from
the seat of the tractor...

My Dad called those the good old days, when you picked or shocked corn sun up to sun down day after day after day. He said the reason they called them the good old days was because they were gone.

I remember the year Dad planted sweepstakes corn - the 9ft kind with one huge ear. Tail end of a hurricane laid the field flat before we harvested, so we spent 2 weeks cutting 5 acres of corn with a corn knife - with everyone in the family working on it. Not so good old days that year.

I remember those days of shocking the corn. The fun part for me was coming back to get a bushel or so as needed and bringing the dog to get mice that always ran out of the shock.
