49 8N Rear Split

I wrote in awhile back about replacing the rear
pinion gear. I found it chewed while replacing lift
pins.
Anyway,I have everything disassembled and ready to
split.Any tips for rolling the front end away from
the back since the rear axle housing is off on the
left side? I know I need wedges for the front
support.
Any help would be appreciated as I am still a newbie
at this.

Most people are not as lucky as I am. I have a 20 foot I-Beam with 2 trolleys so doing that is easy. Short of that I remove the front axle assembly then the engine so that you can get it all apart in smaller sections so easier to hande

Yes, remove one running board. Drill holes in a piece of three inch angle stock to line up with the running board holes. Weld an eight inch long piece vertically to the front of the first piece. Bolt a trailer jack to the bottom of the vertical piece. Crank the trailer jack wheel down until it takes the weight and push it away.

Like old said however I don't have the trolly. I use my engine lift just sling the transmission and push apart.
If you don't have a lift good time to buy one, belive me you will get a lot of use out of it. joe
