With the help (a lot) of Jim a long time mechanic we removed the engine from my mercury - engine was knocking and low to no oil pressure - its off to the shop for an overhaul - had a LOT of sludge in the top end - the part which really unnerved me was lifting it out! Thought you might like to see a few pics of it.
I was surprised that to get the water pumps off you had to insert a socket inside the water pump from where the hose attaches to get the final bolt out - sure seems like a recipe for sized bolts and unless you knew you would wonder why the darn thing would not come off!!!! I know its ot but it was very interesting and the first time I have ever worked on getting an engine out of a car!!!
